Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on the campus of Howard
University in 1913 by 22 enlightened, dynamic college women who represented
the epitome of sisterhood, scholarship and service.
January 13, 1913 marked the dawn of a new horizon in the history of black women. On that day, twenty-two indelible young women from Howard University set the foundation for what is now one of the largest Black women's organizations in the world-Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Inspired by the need for change, these women combined their strengths under the
principles of scholarship, sisterhood, and service.
It is with great honor and distinction that I serve as the 2009-2010 chapter president of the Beta Epsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. On behalf of the Beta Epsilon Chapter, I would like to welcome sorors and visitors alike to our official website. Since the dawn of our illustrious organization in 1913, women of Delta have attained an outstandingstatus of servitude in just about every facet of society.
The ladies of the Beta Epsilon Chapter are committed to upholding the purpose and vision of our dynamic organization by implementing programs that will effectively improve the quality of life on our campus and surrounding communities. A today Beta Epsilon chapter stands on the rich legacy of our Founders keeping scholarship, sisterhood and service at the cornerstone of our existence.
In the words of our current national President, Cynthia M. A. Butler-McIntyre, Standing on the shoulders of giants, Delta women continue to innovate and make a difference in the communities we serve. Following in the footsteps of our Founders, we are guided by our biennial theme, “Delta Sigma Theta- A Sisterhood Called to Serve: Transforming Lives, Impacting Communities
Sisterly love,
